Last weekend was round 2 of the @danielricciardoseries at Little Rissington in Gloucestershire. Racing in blistering temperatures of 30 degrees, the tyres were forever suffering as the rubber slid off. Practice on the Saturday was going well and we showed good pace in the final sessions, despite having problems earlier in the day and realising that we were going to have to look after the tyres and brakes for the racing ahead of us the following day. Sunday came upon us and all day we were having problems; The starter motor internally melted from the heat, which our mechanic (my dad) had...

Saturday was my second time at the Rye House Pro Kart 4-hour endurance and what a day it was! On Friday night and Saturday morning it had been raining, so although we had a damp track to practice, the drying conditions meant we had to adapt for the race start when the track had dried compared to practice. Once practice was completed we went out onto a new layout for a one-lap qualifying which I have never experienced before. Already made a mistake — as I went out my tyres and brakes were cold so as soon as I came...

For the next round off the 2021 championships the Laser Tools Rally Team travelled south to the ex-American Air force base at Kettering for the Rex Pets Flying Fortress rally and being one of my favourite venues we were really looking forward to his one. The venue has some quite fast straights as well as some slower narrow and technical sections on the service roads through the trees. The forecast for the day was to be a hot one and with the excellent entry we needed to make a good start on the first stage. We set off in to...

With ongoing COVID 19 restrictions in Wales affecting Anglesey circuit and Round 3 of the 116Trophy postponed, it looked like there would be no racing in June. However, after tireless work by the 116Trophy team, a deal was struck with MSVR for an additional round at the fabulous, fast Snetterton 200 circuit on June 27. Proving the strength of the series, with just three weeks’ notice, a grid of 26 cars was assembled.   A warm, dry day welcomed the teams and their immaculately prepared cars. As the flag fell at the end of qualifying it was the 777 machine...

This weekend was the first round of the Daniel Ricciardo Series and also my first time in the senior kart, going into the weekend oblivious to its power and ability, not much went right for us. Saturday was problem after problem with a stuck throttle cable sending me backwards into a wall, the set up all over the place and the kart breaking down on the final session only leaving me with one proper practice session which went okay but saw me 1.2+ seconds off pace. Sunday came and seeing us have multiple mechanical faults saw us miss the first...
